Let’s be real.
Your husband does not need another golf accessory.
He doesn’t need another watch. Another wallet. Another bottle of bourbon. Another gadget he could have ordered for himself on Amazon.
If you’re looking for a gift that will genuinely surprise him—whether it’s for your anniversary, your wedding day, Christmas, his birthday, or simply because you want to remind him exactly who he married—let me introduce you to the boudoir album.
And yes.
He is going to lose his damn mind.
But here’s the part women don’t expect:
The gift might start out being for him. The experience ends up being for you.
There is something completely different about giving him photographs of you.
Not something you bought.
Not something mass-produced.
Not something he could have picked out himself.
You.
The woman he fell in love with.
The woman he married.
The woman he built a life with.
And maybe somewhere between work, kids, laundry, schedules, school drop-offs, bills, practices, dinner and approximately 9,000 other responsibilities, the two of you haven’t gotten to see this side of you in a while.
That’s what makes a boudoir album so personal.
It’s sexy, obviously.
But it’s also intimate.
It’s a little piece of your relationship that belongs to the two of you.
And trust me—he is not expecting it.
I photograph a lot of married women in my Scottsdale boudoir studio, and anniversaries are one of my favorite reasons women come in.
Especially milestone anniversaries.
10 years.
15 years.
20 years.
25 years.
Because by that point, you’ve been through some shit together.
You’ve built careers. Maybe you’ve raised babies. You’ve watched each other change. You’ve survived stressful seasons and probably argued over things you can’t even remember anymore.
Marriage evolves.
So do you.
There is something incredibly powerful about handing your husband an album after 10, 20 or 25 years together and essentially saying:
Yep. She’s still in here.
And honestly?
Sometimes marriage needs a little gasoline thrown on the fire.
This is one hell of a way to do it.
If you’re getting married, a boudoir album makes an incredible wedding-day gift for your fiancé.
Imagine him opening an album of you while he’s getting ready to marry you.
Good luck concentrating on the ceremony after that.
Bridal boudoir sessions can be sexy, romantic, playful or a combination of all three.
You can incorporate your veil.
Your wedding lingerie.
His dress shirt.
Something sentimental from your relationship.
Or we can create something that has absolutely nothing to do with your wedding and simply celebrates YOU during this season of your life.
The best part?
You’re creating something he gets to keep long after the wedding day is over.
Every year I see women scrambling to figure out what the hell to buy their husbands for Christmas.
And every year I think:
Ladies. I have the answer.
Imagine an album wrapped under the tree that he has absolutely no clue is coming.
Better yet, imagine watching his face when he realizes what’s inside.
You cannot buy that reaction at the mall.
If you’re considering giving a boudoir album for Christmas, though, do not wait until December to book your session.
Professional albums and printed artwork take time to design, approve and produce, especially during the holiday season.
Plan ahead.
Your future self will thank you.
And so will your husband.
GOOD.
You’re not supposed to.
That’s my job.
I cannot emphasize this enough: you do not need to know how to pose for a boudoir session.
You don’t need to practice your sexy face in the mirror.
You don’t need to suddenly become comfortable in front of a camera.
And you definitely don’t need to show up knowing what to do with your hands.
I will guide you through all of it.
At Love & Boudoir, I’ll walk you through your poses, expression, hands, legs, where to look—everything.
Your job is literally to show up.
I’ll take it from there.
This is another question I hear constantly.
And no, you don’t need to go buy $1,000 worth of lingerie before your session.
You can absolutely bring lingerie if you have pieces you love, but you can also incorporate things that make the photos more personal to him.
His button-down shirt.
His favorite team’s jersey.
A T-shirt of his.
Your wedding veil.
Something connected to an inside joke.
Or nothing but a sheet.
Sometimes the simplest looks end up being the ones women love the most.
You’ll also have access to the curated client closet at my Scottsdale studio, and we’ll go through your options together before we start photographing.
So please don’t stress about figuring this out on your own.
Here’s where things usually change.
A woman contacts me because she wants to surprise her husband.
That’s the reason she finally books.
She tells herself:
“I’m doing this for him.”
Then she gets here.
She gets her hair and makeup done.
We put music on.
We start shooting.
The nerves start disappearing.
And then she sees her images.
That’s when I get to watch the entire reason for the session shift.
Because suddenly it isn’t only about what he’s going to think when he opens the album.
She’s looking at herself thinking:
Holy shit. That’s ME.
And THAT is my favorite part.
Because yes, your husband is probably going to think these are the greatest photographs you’ve ever taken.
But I want you to love them just as much as he does.
Actually, more.
Life has a funny way of slowly turning women into everything they are to everyone else.
Wife.
Mom.
Employee.
Business owner.
Chauffeur.
Schedule keeper.
Snack provider.
Keeper of everyone’s appointments, passwords, permission slips and apparently the only person in the house capable of finding something that’s directly in front of them.
And somewhere in there, it can become really easy to forget the woman underneath all of those roles.
Boudoir gives her a little room to come back out.
Not because she disappeared.
She’s been there the entire time.
Sometimes she just needs to be reminded.
So yes.
Book the boudoir shoot for your husband.
Tell yourself it’s his anniversary gift.
His wedding gift.
His Christmas present.
His birthday surprise.
Whatever gets you through my door.
But don’t be surprised when you leave realizing you gave yourself something too.
